This won't be a very meaty post, just by the way.
Well, here I am in the last stretch of NaNoWriMo, I'm at a nice count of 56,015 words, and I'm hoping to get more done this Sunday, when I'll also be covering. Also, HELLO Travel-ites who have participated in my contest, my friend Bennett, and my English teacher (again!).

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm alive.
Character names:
Caleb Lomax Winslow will become Caleb Peter Winslow

Day 26, with a Bit of Farewell
First off, gigantic props to the folks from yesterday at the bookstore who were very supportive of me. I sprinted (and won!) my way to 48,583 words, and I feel up for more today! Yes, this means that I am in the final stretch of NaNoWriMo. All good things must end, no?
Anyhow, these are my plans for the blog:
Yes, DeidreDev's Blog will not be posted on for a long while. However, it will come back to life if I attempt Script Frenzy or Camp NaNo, and I hope to be back next year for NaNoWriMo for another fun-filled month of noveling awesomeness. Back in real life for the rest of the year, I'll answer to my real name a little more (sorry write-in groupies that I fooled you about my name :P) and get my head back in class, but I'm not finished yet, am I? NO! Of course, I still have 1,108 more words left to write, and there is a lot of editing to be done, ESPECIALLY from that 954-word sprint; that part will probably get rewritten entirely!
Here is the posting schedule for the rest of the month:
Option 1.)
I slack off and don't get anything done today, posting stays normal until I finish.
Option 2.)
11/26: I finish today and post this evening.
11/27-29: I might post about looking through things, or my awesome prizes.
11/30: I'll address a few final issues and get this blog closed for the season with a fresh post, as well as cover a Nov. 30th party.
12/??: Hey, I might be going to the TGIO party, and you *might* just see a little surprise from me!
Well, I'll catch up with you guys tonight or tomorrow!

What A Great 25 Morning!
Think about it - you're out of bed and you quickly stretch before slipping a sweatshirt on and heading towards the very comfortable rocking chair in the corner of your room (the only corner that you really do attend to) and turn on the lamp, having a shiny laptop up onto your lap. You install updates, then turn on your Train CD (Save Me, San Francisco - Golden Gate Edition, of course!) and it starts pumping into your headset, making yous smile. Here's the kicker: You plug in your flash drive, and whaddyaknow - you're two thousand words ahead!
Yesterday, thanks to the chat-Wrimos, I'm really ahead. So, in order to save some for the write-in today, I'm going to continue writing a bit of my fanfiction. I'm pretty pumped for this, been waiting to flesh out a it of my plot for a while, and I can now worry about quality! If I ever need an outlet for my inner editor, that's where I put it there because I only check for spelling/grammar/fact problems once or twice before submitting.
Well, here's to a great day!

Day 24's Eve
Helloooooooooooo!!! I'm really, really, REALLY excited, if you can't tell. I'm on a serious roll tonight. Not only did I get a whole chunk of gaming done, but I also write almost 4,000 words! I just wanted to let you all know!
D

Day 24
+ Hit 40,000 words!
Yes, I'm in the home stretch now! I have 10,000 more words to write, and I think that I can make it this year! Who knows - maybe I'll pitter out, but with all the support of my friends, family and new found Wrimos, I'm feeling good about this!
Now then, as I hit the home stretch, I have a few decisions to make - am I going to keep the blog, or will I drop it now and save it for next year? After NaNo, I'll be back to gaming and Travels-blogging, which will mean less posting here. However, I wanted to keep this up to keep my half-promise to (gosh darnit I miss him) Yadin and keep writing here. No doubt I'll stop writing my stories, but I may end up too busy to keep blogging here.
So, it's up to you! If I introduced you to this blog via e-mail (my English teacher and my grandmother, for instance) then you can shoot me an e-mail with your thoughts. If you follow, you can send me an e-mail if you know where to go, or you can leave me a comment!
Well, that's it for today!

Day 23, and My Life With Hate-Comments
Good afternoon, Day 23! I am ahead of schedule, about to hit 40,000 words, that means that I'll pull off ten thousand words in about seven days - thrilling, no?
Today's writing time was spent in a Barnes and Noble, where I hung out in the chatroom and ate cheese-stuffed pretzels with a side of hot chocolate! Mmm-mm, love the stuff! Though I am too tired to write a feature topic, I have a little story for all of you to learn from, a memoir if you'd like to call it that.
For a while now, there has been one blogger who has been hate-commenting my stories if/when I post them, and for that same while, I have been busy blocking his IP and (back home on Travels) eventually limiting comments so he can't get away with anonymous comments. Still, my little pest sometimes finds my Skype account (which I use for my job on KingsIsle Universe) by getting into my friends'/co-workers' accounts and ends up either spamming or hate-IMing me. Time and time again, I teach my lesson with screenshots and word-censor blocks.
At this point, I'm not sure what the entire message of this is. Trouble is inevitable and will only follow you, no matter how fast and far you run from it. If you run, you'll end up in a new place full of its own little pests. If you stay, then the trouble thrives. There's simply no avoiding it, and so the lesson of the day is NOT to run from trouble, but to stare at it in the face and not blink so it will laugh. If trouble laughs, it self-destructs - it's DeidreDevically proven!
Maybe I'm trying to say that you shouldn't let this harm you. I've put up with this guy, and even started a new blog just for my writing. I still get occasionally bugged, but I have friends who help me out a lot. Stay safe, you guys.

Thanksgiving, Blog Dedication, 22 Morning
Good morning, readers - I hope you are all having a very safe and happy Thanksgiving if it's started, or that you are safe and happy in general is you're just waking up. I write this post with a slightly heavy heart, and you'll find out why.
Anyhow, noveling progress for today has been a dead zero since I have just logged on. I haven't even logged into the chat yet, but I can practically smell the pie.
Oh, all right - I'll get straight to the point. There has been one blogger who has helped me since the beginning of Travels and all the way through DeidreDev's, and today he announced that he was going to leave to focus on school and such. I mean, I support him all the way, but I'm really going to miss the guy. He told me beforehand, but I never expected it to happen.
His name is Yadin Bromberg, alias Blaze Shadowhorn. He's been a blogger for two years and is just one heck of a helpful person. He's very handy with HTML and gaming knowledge, and will always listen to you if you need someone to talk with. Did I mention that he's also a downright brilliant writer? Well, today was the post-day, on Thanksgiving where he extended his final thankyous and goodbyes. Blaze leaves behind several achievements and a brilliant legacy...and his job on KingIsle Universe, a site which I am Chief Editor on...oh no...
Anyhow, because he has done so much for it, including organizing widgets, creating copyright stuff, and just being there, this here blog is dedicated to him. Long Live the Frosty Legacy (after his signature, Keep it Frosty)!

NaNoLog Day 21
Today, I'll be bringing back a concept of posting that I used to use and will use again back on Travels. Basically, I'll post whatever is needed to be posted for a particular day, and then the feature. In this case, I'm doing this because the feature is rather short, mainly because my homework is full of this and I'm starting to get sick of it. Also, the "read more" button will make much more sense. Today:
Wordcount/Blog Updates (to jump - ctrl+f, search "alpha")
NaNoWriMo Socializing Updates (search "gamma" (because I'll be mentioning Beta testing, most likely))
Feature: Ten Reasons to Word-Sprint ("delta")
Hellos ("epsilon")

Daily Procrastination - Day 20 with a Twist
Hello, my now eight to ten readers! With ten more days of November heading straight for my face, I have most definitely made an enemy during NaNoWriMo - procrastination, oh no! Today, I'll be sharing my different types of procrastination.. If you can't tell, I've divided mine into my six periods every day of school - enjoy!
1.) The Sit-ups
Oh dear, not the sit-ups! If you try hard enough, you can get what you need to get done, done; but boy does it hurt! After very breath, you really want to stop. I go through this in P.E., thus the nickname of sit-ups. I go through this with blogging when I'm making scheduled posts, like I have back home on Travels, and I especially face this during word sprints.
2.) Yes, More Sentences (or in my case, Words)
With no offense to my English teacher intended (Hello!), I sometimes get really sick of having to measure my papers in sentences because of all my words written. In the case of my novel, I get really stuck when I press enter for dialogue and I get half of the words in twice the amount of page normally used. Sometimes, I want to change the scale just for a few minutes so I can feel like I'm doing something productive. In class, I feel like this with my sentences and with my pages in NaNo. Most of my procrastination comes from complaining about it, see.
3.) Over-sanding
My favorite "doing" class of the day is Tech Ed - for a while I've been a thinker and now I can actually make stuff! However, my greatest nemesis lies somewhere in either my wood or the belt sanders, because it's always me who sands down too far. I try to manicure it to the pristine point, but then over-sand by maybe a sixteenth of an inch, and I have to start the part over. It really stinks! I go through this when I start editing (now don't try to hurt me for that, I'm an editor at heart) my novel and I'm suddenly pretty far below. I waste a lot of time doing this.
4.) Yes, Another Workbook Page to Color In
For the love of semicolons, I'm in the __ grade already, I don't need to color in another page! That's what I keep thinking when I am faced with though plotting moment and just want to wing it. However, I almost always get a fact wrong and have to write the scene over again. THAT'S a lot of fun, that is. However, those workbook pages get me a fair amount of homework credit, so I do them. In the case of my novel, all the character sheets will pay off. Still, I don't really want to do them...
5.) Don't Forget Your Homework!
At school, I try to get all of my homework done in the few minutes before the class ends. However, many of the labs in science take a long time for me to complete, so I don't get my homework done. This is like trying to write on the school's computers in the morning, or when I get a chance to work after I finish drafting for Tech Ed. If I don't get the words done, I then have more to do when I get home, which is a pain if I have extracurricular activities. Then again, the computers at school are so hard to type on and the odt doesn't convert into a doc or docx. Why waste time when I could waste more?
6.) And Now, It All Piles Up!
When I get to math at the end of the day, I'm not only bombarded with equations and algorithms, but I'm also confronted with the workbook pages and the homework and the sentences. The toughest part about procrastination is that it piles up into something impossible to manage.
Well, I really should start making sure that my Thanksgiving post for Travels is ready-to-go...and (oops!) start writing one for DeidreDev's!

More Covers and More Hellos for Day 19
My Cover (I make these from scratch.) |
These two are covers for my friend Cameron, who is a very talented writer. The cover with the sticker and the words is a trial, and the other one is the standard so I can work with it when he gets a better title (I'm still a fan of "ART"!)
At the moment, I'm sort of in the middle of trying to talk about my NaNo day today (which is about two sentences long), or making something interesting up to show to my English teacher. It's sort of hard to decide, so I'll talk about both.
My day in NaNoWriMo was about 16800 words as usual, still sticking to the 50,000 word goal for November this year. I got a fair share of scenes written, and I'm ready for character G to flounce into scene (big number) and for the action to start! What's hilarious is my tendency to make people breathe a lot in my scenes. When I lose my creative muse, I write about my characters breathing. Hah, I might have to stop.
Otherwise, my friends at school are treating me well with the NaNo going on. A few of them ask me how my wordcount is going, but I sort of ambush the rest with updates (sympathy to my table) during lunch. I am writing in the library when I get to school in the morning (and that's about an hour before buses roll in) if I'm not chilling with the jazz band. I get about 3 - 5 hundred words down in that time, and maybe a few more if I finish lunch quickly. However, I like hanging out with my friends - plus, I can bug a few wrimos while I'm at it.
So, to wrap things up, I wanted to say hello to two new readers - My English teacher and my friend Bennett! (Not to be confused with the Bennett in my novel. that name might get changed out.) Welcome, and happy reading!

Good Evening, Day 18!
I was positively sure that the evening
of the eighteenth was getting no stormier, but things were about to
take a turn for the darker. I, Deidre Devereaux, had just sat down at
_____ _____ Books amongst fellow Wrimos. I proudly dubbed this
evening "Defining Scene Day". That's when everything went
dark. At first, I didn't notice that the lights were out due to my
laptop giving off a radiant glow. It was when the emergency flashing
lights caught my eye mid-word that I turned my head up. Sadly, I left
the host and a few others behind to rearrange things as I capped my
lanyard and headed outside with everybody else evacuating. After we
regrouped, we decided to tee off for the Starbucks, where, to our
dismay, was also dark. We resolved to wait under an awning, when I
decided to bail.
A lot of dark at the moment, and I want
to shout out to the poor Wrimos who are still under the awning. About
the stormy, all I can say is that it's not getting any drier out
there.
Here's to the Wrimos in the rain!

Good Morning, Day 18!
Thank goodness I'm caught up on my wordcount. I'm going to a write-in this afternoon, so I'm kicking back just a little this morning to work on my fanfiction trilogy and get some fanfic-editing done as well.
To my non-Travelite reader, my roots of writing started with roleplaying, Harry Potter roleplaying to be exact. I was Deidre Triston, and was a death eater on the roleplays. After that, I went to HP fanfiction on Wattpad, then I slowly gravitated back towards gaming, back towards Wizard101 and what was soon to be Pirate101 as well. My fanfiction attempts have been a mix of wins, losses, and mayhem among collaborators, but all in good fun, no? (Okay, that last catastrophe nearly did me in.)
This latest project is my prize jewel of my collection, mainly because it got uploaded to a very popular site in a nice section of its own - Pirate101 fanfiction!
Now, before you glare at me like that (as so many people have), maybe I should tell you that I got the entirety of this short story done in less than a week - Three to five days of slow and steady writing, then one day of "Ohmigosh, I have to get this finished tonight!" writing. Read more here! I queried it to the community manager of the game, and he responded after ten days, if I recall, with a few ideas to make the story more versatile and appropriate for the approximated age group. The next few days were spent with my good old blood mop and a pair of gloves in the scenes. I think I even wrote a scene for my own amusement about the author sweeping things up right before a character entered. I'd better edit that out before I accidentally submit it.
This is my second trilogy. My first trilogy never got past halfway through the second before catastrophe struck and I had to choose between my sanity and the trilogy. The first section is about half the size of the old one as a price, but I consider it better written indeed.
Well, that's my bio. Where did YOUR writing roots come from?

NaNoLog Day 17
Oh, dear - I'm about a thousand words behind.
Last night, I went to a Lindsey Stirling concert, and it was worth the loss, though. She's amazing!
At the moment, I'm writing up more words, and I just got to 26,000 words. I have to get to approx. 28,500 today to stay on track, so I've got a ways to go. At the moment, my protagonist (Caleb) is on his toes developing ideas. Here's what I have for today....ignore the typos, please!
-
Caleb heaved his backpack onto one shoulder, holding it to his side with the according hand. He tried to use his left hand to open the door, though eventually, a boy named Nolan in his third period PE kicked it open for him. Caleb skittered through, and looked for the back door of the cafeteria (where the gym left out) towards the electives hall. He ducked through it as a girl opened it, and he walked straight towards the woodshop.
“Come on, I have to look again.” Caleb felt the bottom of his backpack and the piece of wood that he salvaged. He opened the door...or at least tried to. Doors didn't necessarily like him that day, he decided. Caleb put his full weight on the door, and got it pushed back into him.
“No can do, sonny.” The same man from the fire site stared back at him. “You know the fire hazards -”
“Then why did you get me in? And who's Roscoe?” caleb demanded.
“Listen, he'll tell you everything. Just...go through the corridor, but don't go into the woodshop, for Pete's sake. Just go through aisle C and towards your next class.”
“Aisle -” There were three main hallways in a building. In this particular one, aisle A was the electives hall, and aisle B was a regular hall of classrooms. In both buildings, the aisle C was reserved for teachers and were used as supply rooms, mainly. If one were to get access to an aisle C to get to class, they would be at least two minutes early. He stepped into the room, and skittered through the hall, trying not to be seen by the teachers and the teachers' student assistants. He ducked through the other end and looked up into aisle B of the first building. He could get used to that. He looked for his next classroom, and stepped in, taking a seat by the window.
Caleb liked the window more than others, he supposed. Light filtered in through the glass quite nicely, and he had a nice view of the courtyard. Nikko had once said that he sat by the window as well, blanketed by morning light. Today was a rather cloudy day, and Caleb didn't have the luck to have any rays. He wondered if Bennett was in Nikko's science class.
“Good afternoon, period four!” An old man ( a veteran, as Caleb had learned) stepped in front of the class, his substitute badge shining off of the ceiling light almost has much as he was.
“Good af'ernoon, Mis'er Dawson!” Caleb said as fast as he could muster. He smiled wide and Mr. dawson laughed.
“Now THAT's enthusiasm. How'd you all like the fire drill this morning?” Groans were spread throughout the room. Caleb looked up indifferent, trying not to think about what was going on in the woodshop. Were the first responders dissecting the remains? Had they gone through everything and were starting to restore the place?

NaNoLog Day 14
Total Count: 23,172 words
Hello! Today I caught up to my words after being lazy through yesterday and the day before. My protagonist sneezed up blood, and I'm plotting a flame-throwing jackalope somewhere in there.
Anyhow, my fanfiction got posted today, check 'er out HERE(oops, just pasted in my entire novel on accident): https://www.pirate101.com/free_game/fan_fiction/2012/survivors_word
Yeah, met a lot of Wrimos so far, really loving my regional chatroom! You won't believe how tired I am right now, though. Good night!
For the folks back from Travels; sneak peek of what's next in A SURVIVOR'S WORD!
Destiny pivoted in the other direction, and ran. She had run these same docks maybe hundreds of times, skidding around corners and sliding over dangling bridges. She slip-stepped before darting up a staircase, and she seemingly ran through a pair of swinging wooden doors. Stopping in the middle of the sand-laden square, Destiny cautiously turned. The thought dawned upon her; she was no hero – she had just escaped death a few times. People here had taken down forces single-handedly, swordfought with too many at once. Again, Destiny shrunk back to her child-like stance in awe. She took small steps into the clothier's shop. She glanced to the walls, which were seemingly decorated with weapons – a gleaming spear mounted on the wall seemed to call out to Destiny. The floor was lined with tables of clothing, mostly Skull-Island style; a great find would be practically anything else.
"Where have YOU been?" A young merchant coiled thread in a corner.
"Hello, Aedan. I got into somethin' that's none o' your business, that's what." Aedan Bristol turned back to Destiny, and scowled.
"What do you want?" Destiny reached into a tattered pocket and removed a decent handful of coins.
"What will this get?" She folded her hands on a table and leanedover to support her weight with her shoulders. Aedan squeezed his chin and pulled out a tattered apron. Destiny took a turn to scowl.
"How am I supposed to move around, draw a sword, in whatever you've drawn in?" Destiny held a smart-looking coat at arm's length, not pleased at all. "Is this a joke?"
"Buy it or leave, Devereaux. And get something to patch your eye, it's...not going to get better." Destiny folded the apron and draped it over a shoulder, as a blue scrap of cloth and a mundane ribbon landed in her hand.
"I'll see you later, Aedan." Destiny silently left the shop.

NaNoLog Day 12
I'm officially ahead of schedule - yay!
Anyhow, today I spent most of my time on the chatroom for my region of Wrimos, just having a ball and participating in word sprints. Really, I'm having a pretty smooth first year of NaNo. I'm at 21,419 words, and I can kick back just a little and blog.
In fact, I started reading blogs from back at blog-base and saw one that stood out - a nice and simple blog with an aspiring fan-fiction writer. I got in touch with her, and we started talking, writer-to-writer. About fifty messages went through before I offered to help remake her blog. She accepted, and I took about half an hour to make her a new banner and to find a picture for background. The results:
My watermark is in the bottom left corner, if you were wondering. I made this with GIMP and Pixlr.
Well, that's it from me. I'm tied down with a cold, and my braces bracket popped off, so I should stop writing this post before I get frustrated. Dei, out.

NaNoLog, Day 11
Hello from the local semi-independent bookstore! I'm surrounded by a lot of nice WriMos and I finally made a friend around my age, who is doing the YWP this year. Overall, I'm having a great time - there are word sprints all the time, and I won a few - I picked up another duck! Also, I got yet another duck for being a YA author, just cause. For the YA, I got an antlered duck, and then a holiday light strung one for the word war.
Today I got to 19,390 words - almost 1,000 words more than I had aimed to reach today! I'm pretty happy with myself,, and my character development is going as planned (if you call "as planned" anything.) I'm also having a good time in my region's chat room.
Well, that's it for tonight - goodnight, everyone!

NaNoLog Day 10
+ Got to 16770 words (16787 to be exact)
+ Loving the duck
+ Skullcandy earbuds
Hey, everyone. I'm so excited to have finished my daily words - I promised myself that if I finished before a certain time, I would allow myself to game for a little bit. Today is Pirate101, as well as all the other gaming days.
I also found a good way to get myself writing. After the successful word-war at the write-in, I'm word-warring myself all the time to get quick words down. I set my timer for ten minutes every time, and I shoot for a certain amount of words in the time allowed. After the ten are up, I stopwatch myself until I get to where I needed to be, then I take a quick break. After that, it's back to the wars.

NaNo Log Day 9
Hey everyone, sorry about no post yesterday - heck, I didn't even make my daily words.
Anyhow, I'm blogging LIVE from another Panera write-in, this time in the thick of things near the middle of the table. as a matter of fact, I'm feeling like I actually fit in here - sure, the people are downright insane hilarious and that can be distracting, but I was greeted very warmly, and even got to chat with a few people. Note to self: When in doubt, keep your face straight - it will save your life.
I got to the write-in about twenty minutes early, and sat myself down not at the end of the room, but in the middle of the table. There, I met the host of the event and the co-host, as well as a growing amount of people, whose names have regained the status of a mystery. However, I was welcomed as the "stealthy one from last time", the one who had not been noticed until she got up and left. I was welcomed in as a ninja, to be exact, and I laughed along.
As time ticked on, I met more and more people, and got barely anything written down just because I was having a good time chatting. I bought a sandwich and ate it down while the people across from me talked about Star Wars and the like. For a while, I was the tenderfoot, the reason to why nobody got words down, and what I felt like was more in the party than not, if you get what I mean. I just moved to a meeting room, because the first people who reserved it didn't show up. Now, I'm sort of boxed in, but at least I'm getting something done...sort of. I finished my YWP goal of 15000 words, and am at 15095 words currently.
Blog-base-wise, my fanfiction piece "A Survivor's Word" got accepted by the community manager of Pirate101, which I am very excited about. When I got the e-mail, I called my friends immediately, yelling gibberish to them while jumping on the guest-bed. Thanks go to Tom Purdue the community manager.
Well, that's it from me today - catch you all tomorrow!
Cont: Also, I won a word war with a total of 727 words - I won a NaNoWriMo 2012 rubber duck!
this was cut out from an image of me holding the duck, so it wouldn't show my face |

NaNoLog, Day Seven
On the seventh day of NaNo, my flash-drive gave to me:
Seven uncaught typos
Six locked manuscripts
Five...busted pens!
Four more words to go
Three semicolons
(Maybe that's too much)
Who cares - I'll just fall asleep!!
Indeed I'm losing stamina as I write this. Merry FirstWeek, and to all a good night!

NaNoLog, Day Six
Wow, I've never been this tired.
Yesterday, I forgot to log my words, and so I had to work the numbers out (turns out that I had worked my equation wrong and was about 300 words short of what I needed for last night), and start writing. I spent most of my free time typing my document and talking about my novel with friends. So far, nobody seems to understand it. As I struggle for an explanation, here are a few covers that I've been bouncing around:
Anyhow, my word count is 10,007 - the length of my latest project before NaNo, and about half the length of the project before that one. RIPF2D, if any of you get the reference.
The following are from a manga face-maker that I like to use when I'm messing around. the groupings are friend groupings with exceptions of India and Bjornstad:
Hope you all liked the post! I'm going to get some serious sleep now. Shoutouts to Conner and Megan, two people doing NaNo in my school!

NaNoLog Day Four, LIVE from the bookstore
As not to give away my location, I'm at one of the best almost independent bookstores that I have ever known, with the top being that one vintage spot on the Oregon coast, it smelled of book glue and cologne, in my opinion...oh, sorry.
Anyhow, I'm LIVE at a bookstore/shopping center with a lot of other WriMos, and even more plates of noodles. Noodles - best writing food known to humankind, I swear it. I spent the few hours that I've been here busily typing, making a few friends, and changing the volume on my iPod. I'm at 6,833 words currently, passing my goal of 6,708 by the end of the day. I'm actually trying to look a little nonchalant as I type this post, as to make others think that I'm writing my novel and not a blog post...shh...
Today's post will be composed of two things: something that I saw that inspired me (well, a spinoff of the actual event..) and a bit of my novel. I also have a few interesting pictures at the end.
Spin:
Michael tried to find his center, tried not to wobble from one side of his foot to the other, as Julia stumbled on and off of her two-foot-tall white rook. Julia squealed as she fell over again, this time taking the piece with her. A few WriMos sitting at a long table looked on in inspiration. Over and over, Michael exhaled and Julia stumbled, until three blonde-haired toddler boys rushed in, the tallest toting a red rubber ball on his head. Michael laughed and landed on his bottom in the middle of a dark square, making one of the WriMos gasp in reaction.
Novel:
“CALEB!!” Caleb blinked his eyes open and rubbed at the edges where night-blooming gunk had formed and crystallized. “CALEB, WAKE UP!” Caleb hopped to his feet and put a sweatshirt on over his sweat-stained sleeping shirt. He stumbled to his window and opened it, climbing onto the roof in the cold morning air.
“Bennett, what do you want? You could have knocked.”
“I know. They're going to dust you.”
“Who -”
“Noah.” Bennett interjected. “Noah Roche and his pals are going to dust you today., they're in fourth period, and are going to clean out the bandsaw.”
“Thanks...for telling me, Bennett.”
As Bennett darted away, Caleb didn't feel like going back inside. He sat on the roof, legs huddled close to his chest. Noah and his friends were honestly going to dust him? He was going to have fake dandruff again?” Caleb didn't like the idea or thought of covering someone in dust deliberately. What were they going to do – take pictures? They would be in double trouble, then; deliberate pranking and picture-taking on campus. Maybe, if they got in trouble, the boys would stop harassing people, just maybe.
No, no they wouldn't. They are only going to get better.
-------------
OK, so the big surprise for today is that I'm sort of stuck on titles. Here are a few ideas that I've been bouncing off of my fellow WriMos:
The Scrollsaw's Lament
Of Books and Bandsaws
BLUEPRINTED
My Dearest Scrollsaw
I have a medley of covers, but sadly they're on my non-isolated computer account. I'll be sure to post them in the next post!

NaNoLog, Day Three
Whew! I just reached the 5,031 point and am at 5,066 words currently. Since I don't want to go through my plot all too soon, I'll talk about what happened recently in my own life:
Today's kudos go out to an inspirational woodworker who has earned a name in my school's woodshop. His name is Matthias Wandel, a Canadian man who made his basement into a wonderful haven for his homemade machines and a great base for his videos, which I watch daily. I shot an e-mail to Matthias, and he replied quite kindly and I was proud to share my treasure with my tech ed. class the following day.
One more reason to clamp your work: Matthias does it like a boss.
While I feel guilty for these short posts, I really need to get some sleep, or else there might not be a post tomorrow. Have a good one, everybody!
--
The next Grand Slam terrain should be awesomesauce, just so I can add a dash of it to my topspin.

NaNoLog, Day 2
11/2, 3,452 words
At a Panera Write-in
Hey all! I'm currently writing from a Panera write-in, and since I don't want to give away my location, I'll leave that part with that I'm liking it a lot. (If you're there, I'm the one near the paintings, sitting by myself with a sandwich.) Even though I'm considerably younger than most of the people writing (okay, all of them..) it's a nice atmosphere. I have about 3500 words down, a considerable amount of that written today.
IRL, today was the fall dance, and I had a blast! I am never prepared for loud music and the lights, but I got to dance around with my friends and chitchat away. However, the second I got home, I started thinking about my novel and how I was going to present myself at the write-in. My solution so far; not at all. I'm justsitting here, writing, and I think it's a good way to start things. I'll be sure to intrduce myself when the time comes around, if it does. However, I think I'll like it here, I've always been good accomplices with writers. (Commence trying to make eye contact and smiling...or at least trying to plug my computer in...)
---
There wasn't anything that Caleb could beg for as sawdust filled his throat and lodged itself in an inconvenient place, as with all the other bits of dust compliments of the scroll-saws in the very back of the classroom. People said Caleb had lost it – that he was the only person giving a darn to the mini saws and dusting them off day out, kneeling down and blowing on the blades one by one. Caleb brushed his shaggy hair aside and, for the first time, considered the harsh rumors.
Sunlight seeped through the crack on a slightly hidden back door, mixing with the sneak-up-behind-you tap of rain and not to mention more dust. It rose like a colun the the meager light's presence, and Caleb walked through it, one step at a time.

NaNoWriMo: Day One
In short terms: A lot harder than I expected.
In longer terms: Okay, so I didn't expect 1,677 words to be so hard, but I think that I can still pull through!

Hello, everybody - all three of you! I have just wrapped up today's chaos with a break at 1,687 words - ten more than I expected. However, I have just struggled through the first day, and I'm not so sure how I'm going to make it through the challenge of NaNoWriMo this year, even if I have to dangle Twix bars in front of my nose just to write up another 1677!
Today, I had a very nice experience meeting another WriMo at school - in fact, I initiated him in the library! I was walking through the rain towards the computers - I wanted to keep working on my start from the night before! When I get on the new Mac, a hand pokes my shoulder.
"I heard that you were doing NaNoWriMo.."
"Yes - I am! Are you?"
"Is it too late to start?"
Of course, the poor soul got his shoulders shaken a bit by me, but nonetheless I helped him set up an account. Welcome to NaNoLand, Conner!
If you couldn't tell, though, my writing steam is dead gone, and my inner editor istied up in my closet taking a break for the month - I think I should stop before my grammar goes out of whack!

In longer terms: Okay, so I didn't expect 1,677 words to be so hard, but I think that I can still pull through!
